Summer League #4 - Regent's Park

A message from John Walerych

As usual at Summer League we had sunshine and not a hint of rain. The Regent’s Park course reverted to the previous route with that extension out on the far side so that as you come up the broadwalk you can see the faster runners coming back towards you.

We had 71 senior runners including 4 guest runners who came to sample the selection of food. The tenderfoot runners, in between cartwheels and handstands to pass the time, made sure that we remained competitive across the board.

The relays have become really competitive, clubs are seemingly discovering speedy runners of all ages and despite our best efforts we relegated to second spot in men’s and women’s races. B1 and B2 relays always come up with surprises - Who could have imagined Susan battling it out to the line against someone half her height!

The full results are available on the Summer League website.

Onward or rather Southwards to Battersea on the 11th August for our final fixture of the Summer League. A reminder that this has a later start time of 10am!

P.S. anyone spotting misspellings or variations of your name in the summer league scores blame my fat fingers...

Let me know and I'll correct this year’s information.

Thanks for the update, John. We’d like to say a huge thank you to James, Jen, and Anne for stepping up to manage the registration and handling of the finishers tickets so that John could run, and to all of them for sorting us all out without the mastermind of dear Jean to keep them in check.

Whilst we’re currently top of the leaderboard, Ealing Eagles are hot on our tails, so get down to Battersea and help us retain our title!
