Hoopsters take on the hills at Cross Country Championships

Part of the Hoops' ladies team which tackled the London Cross Country Championships.

Queen’s Park Harriers tackled the hills of Hampstead Heath under bright blue skies on Saturday, November 17, charging up and down a challenging course with striking views of London in the 2018 London Cross Country Championships at Parliament Hill Fields.

13 senior men and 12 senior women Hoopsters faced a meandering, undulating course that started immediately with a steep climb and covered 10.5km for the men, with the women covering a similarly brutal 6km course

Though there were brave cries of “Up the Park” at the start, the punishing incline quickly

humbled the field of 771 competitors across both races.

In the team categories, the women finished in 11th place while the men finished 15th. Check out the results page to see how our individual runners did.

Many Hoopsters warmed up and wound down following the race at the Southampton Arms, a cozy, cash-only pub with a good selection of beers.
