When we train

Our Juniors session take place on Wednesday evenings at the Willesden Sports Centre athletics track.

We train during school term times and it’s a fun environment where children can try various run, jump and throw events. All you need is a pair of trainers and a water bottle!
The Sessions

6:00pm to 7:00pm
Our 6 -7pm session is for those aged 7 up to approximately 11 - aligning generally with primary school ages.
The children are divided into two subgroups: Fundamentals and Foundation.
Fundamentals is for the youngest in the group focusing on all round enjoyment of all aspects of athletics. Foundation will be for those who show an interest in taking part in cross country or summer track and field competitions and who are old enough to do so.
7:00pm to 8:00pm
The 7 - 8pm session is for those aged approximately 11-16, generally those in secondary school.
The children are divided into two subgroups: Development and Performance. The Development group will continue to work on all aspects of athletics while the Performance group will be for those who show an interest and are committed to taking part in other running events, including cross country and summer track and field competitions.
Our young athletes train regularly and many represent the club in various leagues and competitions. This covers Saturday cross country events in the winter (be prepared for mud!) and Saturday track-based athletics. We also compete in the Summer League events, which are held on Sundays.
The full schedule can be found on our events page.
Welfare / Safeguarding
We take the safety of your young athletes very seriously, and have an independent safeguarding team. You can find details of who they are, what they're responsible for and how to contact them on our dedicated Welfare and Safeguarding page.

Queen's Park Junior Parkrun is a great way to get a taste of what we are about.
You and your child can take part and meet the coaches and Queen's Park Harriers' members who regularly use parkrun as an additional training session.

Our Juniors' section is popular! We often have a waiting list, so please get in touch if you'd like your child to join us.

We prioritise children of adult members, siblings of existing junior members and regulars at either Gladstone parkrun or Queen's Park junior parkrun.
