Road Race Series 2025
Do you love seeing lots of other QPH Hoops on the start line, followed by a post-race coffee, lunch or beer and chat with team mates?

Maybe you want to try a new race distance, or find it difficult to know which road races to enter? Then the Road Race Series (RRS) is for you!
Each calendar year, the club has a Road Race Series, (previously called the Road Race Championships) - promoting races specifically chosen to encourage a big club turnout, building team spirit and a sense of community.
Members are invited to enter as many of the RRS events as they'd like. For those who enjoy competition you can add your results to the Leader board and we celebrate achievements at the end of the year - typically at the Christmas party.

Or simply join many other QPH runners on the start line, or cheer them on from the side-lines, that’s great too!

Events

This year, we've focused on a smaller number of events than before, at distances from 3k through to 20 miles. We've put in some new races; a few more 5ks, some fast 10ks and a new 10 miler. Something for everyone!
Middlesex County races and those organised by local running clubs are prioritised, supporting club and legacy events as much as possible.
The races have been specifically chosen to encourage a big club turnout, building team spirit and a sense of community in a race environment. (But also, the more Hoops, the more likely we are to win team medals!)

Award Categories

Anyone can enter as many or as few of the RRS events as you’d like. For those who enjoy competition you can add your results to the Leaderboard where they'll be tallied throughout the year and awards given at the Christmas party.

Categories include:
-
Men and Women with highest age grade %*,
-
Full house of distances (i.e. you complete a race in each of the different distances)
-
Most races finished (out of 13 race dates listed below)
Note that if you want to enter any of these races and NOT take part in the Leaderboard, but simply join many other QPH runners on the start line, or cheer them on from the sidelines, then that’s great too.
*Age grading is a statistical attempt to measure the relative strength of a performance for an athlete of a given age. In other words, it is harder for the average 60 year old to run 5km in 30mins than it is for the average 18 year old. So, if each of them finished in the same time the 60 year old would have a higher age grading.
