What are you doing Wednesday?

The definitive guide to your favorite mid-week social run...

ree

Queen’s Park Social Run is a free community run hosted at The Wolfpack on Lonsdale Road. We meet every Wednesday at 7pm to take in a 5-6km run around the neighbourhood. We keep the pace between 6:30 and 7:00 min/km (or 10:30-11:00 min/mile). Our runs are organised by UKA qualified coaches, meaning you get all the support of a club session, but in a social setting.

How do I join?

There’s no formal sign-up process; all you need to do is turn up to the Wolfpack at 7pm on a Wednesday! If in doubt, look for the group in running kit. Through the Instagram page, you can also message the run leaders to ask any other questions you might have before joining.

Who is it for?

Everyone! This run is a free community run organised by coaches from Queen’s Park Harriers. It’s both for club members and the wider community. It’s free, and always will be. All we ask is that you can run 5km continuously at a 7min/km pace (or a 35min parkrun) before joining.

About the run:

Each week, we take in a different 5 to 6km loop of the area, led by one of our coaches or leaders. We keep the paces between 6:30 and 7:00 min/km, taking breaks to bunch back up throughout the run. We start and finish at The Wolfpack, meaning that even when the running’s done, the socialising doesn’t have to be!

Before the run, we hold a short intro for people joining QPSR for the first time, but the important information is here:

  • You must be at least 18 years old.

  • By attending, you confirm that you are fit and well to participate in running and exercise.

  • Any form of running can be hazardous and strenuous, and you shouldn’t take part unless capable of completing the full distance.

  • You are aware of the risks running on pavements can present and do so on your own volition. The organiser is not liable for any injury, loss, death or damage resulting from you taking part.

  • You will follow the safety instructions of the coaches and leaders throughout.

  • If you feel unwell during a session, stop exercising and inform the session lead.

  • If you need to leave early, please let the session lead know.

  • While items can be left at the venue during the run, this is done at your own risk. Neither the organiser nor the Wolfpack will be liable for any items left at the venue.
